Getting Your Home Ready For Fall
It may still be hot outside, but cooler weather is on its way. Now is the time to start getting your home ready for fall, so read on for our tips to do so successfully!
Add outdoor lighting
String lights, solar-powered yard lights dotting the path, whatever works for you; as long as you can see where you’re going when it gets dark before 5pm, it doesn’t matter what type of light you put outside. Future you will be grateful.
Check pipes
Absolutely no one wants to deal with a burst pipe, especially in the winter. Make sure everything is in good shape now.
Organize your garage and closets
We spend a lot more time indoors as summer ends, and you want to make sure your home is a comfortable place to be. Get rid of clutter and let yourself enjoy your clean space!
Inspect fireplace
Looking forward to cozy nights in front of the fireplace? Make sure it’s in good condition now: hire a chimney sweep, open the flue, sweep in and all around it. This way, it will be ready to go when you use it.
Rake leaves
The less you need to do outside in the cold, the better. Clear the lawn and have less to rake when the leaves fall later this year.
Clean gutters
Just like the pipes, no one wants to deal with a broken, blocked, or flooded gutter, especially when it’s cold. Make sure you clear them out!
Change your filters
You don’t want any issues with the heat, so go ahead and clean out those filters now (it’s good to clean and change them regularly, but especially when changing seasons).
