Taste of Soul Family Festival

March 30 | 12 pm
The Orion Amphitheater

Join us for a taste of Huntsville soul on March 30 at The Orion Amphitheater! This event, presented by The Swann Company, will feature your favorite food trucks from all over Huntsville, vendors, live music, DJ entertainment and more! Get your tickets now to take advantage of our special early bird rate of $15 – tickets will increase to $25 on February 20. Taste of Soul Alabama Family Festival is a one day event to celebrate the heart and soul of Huntsville through music, food and fun. Local eateries, food trucks and food entrepreneurs are the fabric of Rocket City and will be the main focus of this event. Local businesses provide a friendly and home-like environment to all of our residents – and this hospitality will be on display at the Taste of Soul Festival. With something for everyone, Taste of Soul will be a family-friendly event that will capture the minds and taste buds of all of the individuals who represent who we are in Huntsville, Alabama! Tickets include entry to enjoy a diverse music lineup, kid-friendly activities, and the opportunity to purchase a wide array of local dishes and craft beverages. In honor and celebration of Women’s History Month, proceeds from the festival will support the 1st Lady Empowerment Foundation! This organization is dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of young women in the Tennessee Valley. Their initiatives focus on self-esteem, goal chasing and mental health. The organization recently founded and opened a group home, We Care Alabama, that supports those with intellectual disabilities. Taste of Soul is proud to partner with this growing organization to help create significant change and purpose in the community of Huntsville.

Rocket City Reading Festival

March 10 | 11 am – 3 pm

 

Join us in celebrating National Reading Month at the Rocket City Reading Festival, in partnership with Huntsville-Madison County Public Library! Make your way to Apollo South on Sunday, March 10 from 11 AM – 3 PM for this free family-friendly event dedicated to the magic of reading.

Stories are waiting to be discovered at this festival, from local authors showcasing their incredible work at the Authors’ Village in the Apollo South Dome, to the beloved HMCPL book-mobile. Can’t wait to dig into your latest literary finds? Visit the Artist Meadow, where Huntsville and Madison’s Silent Book Clubs will be holding a meet-up. Guests are welcome to bring picnic blankets and chairs to comfortably read while catching some rays!

Plus, plenty of family-friendly activities, bounce houses and interactive performances to enjoy:

Celtic Slow Music Session at South Huntsville Public Library

Celtic Slow Music sessions are a gathering of musical artists playing a variety of tunes. The music chosen can be a mix of relaxing and uplifting tunes to lift the winter spirits.  Food and drink are welcome at these sessions.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The Annual Ellen McAnelly Memorial St. Patrick’s Day Parade is held in downtown Huntsville and has been a Huntsville tradition since 1978. It was started by the owner of Finnegan’s Pub, Ellen McAnelly – a native of Galway, Ireland.
