Refresh Your Home in the New Year
It’s January, so it’s time to refresh your home for the new year! Check out a few of our tips for making your home a little happier this winter.
- Take down the Christmas decorations. If getting out your decor this year was a pain, make sure you label and put them away in an organized manner. Be kind to your future self!
- Clean out the fridge. Throw away food from holiday parties and wipe down the shelves to start the year off right.
- Donate old clothes. If you don’t wear it and it’s in good condition, give it away! Thrift stores are always taking donations, and you’ll enjoy the openness of an emptier closet.
- Test your smoke and CO2 detectors. We’re inside a lot during the winter, and you want to make sure your smoke and CO2 detectors are in good order.
- Toss expired pantry food. We tend to hold onto everything in case of emergencies, but if it’s years past its expiration date, you’re probably not going to eat it. And if it’s still good but not something you like, donate it to a food bank.
