Where to Find Ice Cream in the Tennessee Valley
We’re about to start the new school year, but summer still isn’t over – beat the heat by dropping in one of these shops to enjoy a scoop of ice cream!
Big Spoon Creamery
Big Spoon is new to Huntsville, but it’s one to watch; they use ingredients from local vendors to create artisanal ice cream for a high-end treat.
Bruster’s
Bruster’s isn’t native to Huntsville, but we forgive them because of all the options: from waffle cones and milkshakes to sundaes and sorbets, even picky eaters will find something here.
Handel’s
Handel’s is another out-of-towner that’s very popular. There’s almost always a line, and locals can’t get enough of the almost overwhelming amount of flavors (it’s just that good).
La Michoacana
This shop tends to fly a little under the radar here in Huntsville, but we absolutely recommend stopping by for Mexican-inspired ice cream and fun desserts.
Oscar Moon’s Milkshake Bar
If you’re looking for indulgent milkshakes and rich flavors, don’t miss out on Oscar Moon’s. Bonus: it’s located at Stovehouse, so grab dinner at one of the many great shops before heading over for a milkshake.
Pizzelle’s Confections
This chocolate shop also has amazing ice cream that you can get on its own or as an ice cream sandwich with some of their delightful cookies.
Suzy’s Pops
If you haven’t had a popsicle from Suzy’s, you’re missing out. With a variety of options (including boozy ones for adults), you can find something for everyone.
The Cozy Cow
This Huntsville staple is more known for its coffee and sandwiches, but they also serve up really good ice cream.
Three Scoops
If you’re looking for comfort flavors and a hangout spot, this is the place to be. All of your favorite flavors are here, along with a few fun surprises, and it’s a really solid ice cream shop.
